A useful repair starts with a clear fault history: what stopped working, when it started, whether the device was dropped or exposed to liquid, and what you have already tried. That information helps separate a simple setup or accessory problem from a fault that needs hands-on inspection.

Before you book or send a device

    • Write down the exact symptom instead of only saying the device is broken — for example: no power, no display, intermittent charging, overheating, or input problems.
    • Note anything that happened immediately before the fault, such as a drop, liquid exposure, update, new charger, or a problem that became gradually worse.
    • If the device still works, back up important data before repair where practical. If it is physically damaged or unsafe to use, stop testing it repeatedly.
    • Bring or send any accessory that is directly involved in the fault, such as the charger or cable, when that helps reproduce the problem.

What a good diagnosis should answer

The first goal is not to guess a part. It is to narrow the fault to the smallest useful set of possibilities and decide what can be tested safely. For an intermittent symptom, one possibility is an external connection or accessory rather than the device itself; we would confirm that during diagnosis instead of assuming an internal fault. A device that will not power on also needs a different first check from one that powers on but has no picture.
